Michael Crawford has over 20 years of investment banking and operating experience. During his investment banking career, Michael has executed mergers and acquisitions and raised equity and debt capital through both private placements and public offerings. He has represented companies in a range of industries, including aerospace, consumer products, healthcare and manufacturing such as CSI Aerospace (sold to HEICO), Simply Mac (sold to GameStop), and Summit Doppler (sold to CooperSurgical). Michael’s primary focus is on the telecom, media, and technology (TMT) industries, with a particular specialization in data centers, Internet of Things (IoT) and XaaS cloud-based businesses. His TMT clients include Bolo Systems (M&A;), Narus (equity financing), Switch Communications (strategic advisory), and WVT Communications (strategic advisory). Michael’s approach to deal-making combines strong analytical and communication skills with a belief that successful bankers are facilitators who develop creative, pragmatic and balanced solutions that meet the needs of buyer and seller, company and investor.
Prior to joining Q Advisors, Michael spent five years with Level 3 Communications, a Fortune 500 telecommunications service provider, where he held leadership positions in Corporate/Business Development, Sales Management, and Marketing. Prior to Level 3, Michael was an investment banker with Prudential Securities in New York, as well as with two leading boutique firms in Denver.
Michael is actively involved with non-profit organizations in Colorado. He is currently on the Board of the Colorado Soccer Association and previously served on the Boards of the Parkinson Association of the Rockies and ArtReach. Michael received a B.A. in Economics from Lafayette College and an M.B.A. from the Wharton School at the University of Pennsylvania.
Gerry DeHaven has over 25 years of investment banking, operating and consulting experience in the telecom, media, and technology (TMT) markets. Gerry’s investment banking experience includes M&A; and debt and equity financings in a variety of TMT sub-sectors including cloud services, telecom, internet infrastructure, IT services, data center, and unified communications. He has worked with both emerging companies and large organizations including Alteva, Broadvox, CallTower, CMS, Excel, General Telecom, IDT, Net Access, Net2Phone, NGT, Saturn Telecommunications, Simple Signal, Speakeasy, Transcend United, UNSi, VoIP Logic, Wall Street Networks, and X5 Solutions.
Prior to joining Q Advisors, Gerry was the Founder and President of Iridius Capital Group, an M&A; advisory and strategic consulting firm that worked primarily with communications and technology companies. Gerry also served as Managing Director for both Palladium Capital and Blue Beacon Capital where he advised Speakeasy on its $97 million sale to Best Buy. In addition, Gerry has held senior management positions with several communications and technology companies and also co-founded several successful communications companies including Blink Data and Vista International Communications (acquired by ACC, now a division of AT&T;). Gerry’s approach to investment banking reflects his deep operational expertise, long-term relationships, and tenacious pursuit of the optimal deal for his clients.
Gerry is a frequent speaker at industry conferences and has served on the Board of Directors for multiple communication and technology companies throughout his career. He received a B.S. in Business Administration from Marist College and attended the Rutgers Business School Executive Education program.
Michael Quinn, founding partner of Q Advisors, brings a unique and highly valuable background to telecom, media, and technology (TMT) investment banking that combines finance, hands on M&A; experience, and law. With more than 25 years of international operations and investment banking experience in the telecommunications industry, Michael has originated, structured, and executed more than 100 deals totaling more than $4 billion in transaction value. Michael’s deep industry expertise and extensive transaction experience has enabled him to lead M&A; and debt and equity financings in a variety of TMT sectors including cloud and managed services, competitive wireline telecom, wireless, digital media, social networking, mobile content, satellite and mobile infrastructure and solutions. He has led transactions for Q Advisors' clients including: Arkadin, Atlantic Tele-Network, Inc., Broadcore, Grande Communications, Hudson Fiber, Masergy Communications, Neverblue, One Source Networks, NuVox, Inc., and WildBlue Communications. Michael brings to the table a reputation as a creative problem solver; passionately committed to obtaining the optimal results for the firm’s clients.
Prior to forming Q Advisors, Michael was a founder of and Chief Corporate Development Officer for VeloCom Inc., a Latin American wireless services provider, where he was responsible for capital raising and acquisition activities. Michael began his career with the New York-based law firm of Cleary, Gottlieb, Steen & Hamilton. He later became a partner in the Denver-based law firm Holland & Hart LLP, guiding their international corporate finance practice.
Michael received a B.A. in International Affairs from The George Washington University and a J.D. from the New York University School of Law. He is currently on the Advisory Board of The George Washington University School of Business and on the Board of the Elliot School of International Affairs at The George Washington University.
Patrick Scott has over 20 years of international investment banking and corporate finance experience in the telecom, media, and technology industries. Since joining Q Advisors in 2006, Patrick has been the lead partner on a number of debt and equity financings and mergers and acquisitions transactions particularly focused on the wireline, fiber, and wireless and satellite segments. His Q Advisors clients include Nokia, Public Mobile, WIND Canada, Wild Blue Communications and a number of leading Private Equity Funds.
Prior to joining Q Advisors, Patrick was a Director in KZC Catalyst’s $150 million private investment fund. Previously, he was a Managing Director in the Telecom Group with Bank of America Securities, raising over $2.0 billion in debt and advising companies on over $5.0 billion in transactions. His work with Bank of America included a $1.8 billion project financing for a BellSouth cellular subsidiary, earning IFR and PFI Deal of the Year in 2000. Patrick also created and managed his own consulting firm, advising on over $2.0 billion in merger and acquisition transactions, including the acquisition of a Qualcomm CLEC subsidiary by an MCI company and advising Embratel S.A., a Brazilian long-distance operator, in its bid to purchase strategic assets from AT&T; Latin America. Patrick brings to the table a wealth of transaction experience and has a reputation as a globally oriented, strategic, long-term thinker.
Patrick received a B.A. in Political Science from the University of California, San Diego, and an M.B.A. from the University of Michigan.
Brian Barnell brings over 20 years of diverse financial experience to the field of investment banking that includes commercial lending, project finance, corporate finance and strategic advisory. Brian’s deep knowledge in telecom, media, and technology (TMT) has assisted clients such as Neverblue, Nokia, Public Mobile and Taqua maximize their transactions value by designing creative capital structures and focusing on each company’s ideal positioning given the sector’s current market dynamics.
Prior to joining Q Advisors, Brian was at Bank of America where he served as a Vice President in the Latin America Debt Capital Markets and Global Project Finance groups. In these capacities he focused primarily on raising debt and equity capital for domestic and international communications service providers.
Brian received a dual B.A. (History and Spanish) from The University of California at Santa Barbara and a M.A. from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey.
Andrew Gaffney has over 20 years of investment banking and corporate finance experience, leading numerous strategic transactions including mergers and acquisitions, recapitalizations and debt and equity financings. Andrew has worked with clients in a range of telecom, media, and technology (TMT) sectors including cloud communications, managed services, media and technology. His clients include Broadcore, Circle Graphics, Ripple Resort Media, Simple Signal and Telovations.
Prior to joining the firm, Andrew worked at SunTrust Robinson Humphrey, a leading middle market investment bank based in Atlanta, where he executed a broad array of transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, public offerings and private placements of equity and debt. Previously, Andrew was a Vice President with ING Investment Management, investing as a principal in private placements of debt and asset-backed securities. Andrew started his career in commercial banking with SunTrust Bank.
Andrew received a B.A. degree in History from Washington and Lee University and an M.B.A. with honors from The Wharton School, where he was a Palmer Scholar. Andrew holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
Andy Monroe brings more than 15 years of diverse corporate finance and investment banking experience to clients across the technology and communications industries. He has executed numerous private placement and merger and acquisition transactions related to cloud-based technologies and applications, enterprise and mobile software, managed network services and other emerging growth sectors. His clients have included: Arkadin, Crisp Wireless, Grande Communications, One Source Networks, Pingtone and UNSi.
Prior to joining the firm in 2007, Andy was a Vice President with Seattle-based Cascadia Capital and previously a sell-side equity Research Associate for Chicago-based William Blair & Company where he was responsible for performing strategic analysis, financial modeling, and valuation analysis for the wireless communications, technology and business services industries. Earlier in his career, Andy also held various finance positions with FrontierVision Partners, a cable systems operator, and was a Senior Auditor in the Communications practice of KPMG.
Andy holds a B.S. in Accounting from the University of Colorado at Boulder and an M.B.A. in Finance and Entrepreneurship from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
Daniel Kenney has over eight years of diverse investment banking experience executing mergers and acquisitions, debt and equity financings, financial and strategic advisory assignments for clients across a variety of telecom, media, and technology (TMT) sectors including cloud, enterprise and wholesale communications, fiber and wireless infrastructure, technology hardware and software. Daniel has been integral to the execution of M&A; and financing transactions with Q Advisors clients such as ADEX Corporation, CP Communications, Crisp Wireless, Grande Communications, Hudson Fiber Network, Stage 2 Networks, Simply Mac, Spring Mobile, and Summit Doppler.
Daniel received his B.S. in Finance/Accounting with High Distinction, as well as a minor in Economics from the University of Colorado.
Jordan Rupar joined Q Advisors in 2012. During this time she has executed numerous mergers and acquisitions, equity financings and strategic advisory assignments for clients across the telecom, media, and technology (TMT) industries with a particularly deep focus on cloud communications, software and technology, and other emerging growth sectors. Specific clients on whose transactions she has been engaged include: Arkadin, One Source Networks, Telesphere, United Network Services, Inc. and WennSoft.
Jordan received her B.S.B.A. in Finance with Distinction, as well as minors in both Mathematics and Economics from the University of Denver.
Hayley Hughes joined Q Advisors in 2014 and has executed mergers and acquisitions, debt and equity financings and strategic advisory assignments for clients across the telecom, media, and technology industries, including TelePacific Communications, Mundo Media, TNCI and Ripple Resort Media.
Hayley received a B.S. in Finance with High Distinction, a Quantitative Finance Certificate, and a minor in Economics from the University of Colorado. While obtaining her degree Hayley interned at a wealth management firm and was a four-year scholar athlete.
Charlie Brown joined Q Advisors in 2016 and has been working with the team on mergers and acquisitions and strategic advisory assignments for clients across the telecom, media, and technology (TMT) industries.
Charlie received his B.S. in Finance and Accounting from the University of Colorado at Boulder. While obtaining his degree, Charlie participated in the Leeds School of Business’s Investment Banking Seminar. He also completed an internship with Q Advisors prior to joining full time.
Naaz Essabhoy joined Q Advisors in 2017 and has been working with the team on mergers and acquisitions and strategic advisory assignments for clients across the telecom, media, and technology (TMT) industries.
Naaz received her B.B.A in Finance from The George Washington University and was a graduate of the Honors Program. Prior to joining Q Advisors Naaz was an analyst at J.P. Morgan, where she gained experience on both the Private Bank and Investment Management sides of their Asset Management business.
Wilma is responsible for all financial operations and reporting at Q Advisors. She has over 25 years of experience in business operations, consulting and engineering.
Prior to joining Q Advisors, Wilma was an independent business consultant, working primarily in the professional services industry. She also worked as an in-house management consultant in the healthcare industry and in the oil and gas industry as an engineer and field supervisor.
Wilma is actively involved in the volunteer community in Denver, fulfilling various roles with The Children’s Hospital, Trips for Kids, Cottonwood Institute, Junior League of Denver, and the Denver Public Schools. She received B.S. degrees in Metallurgical Engineering and Environmental Engineering from New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology, and an MBA from the University of Colorado at Denver.
