Arkadin, a subsidiary of NTT Communications, is a leading global provider of business collaboration solutions, including audio, web, and video conferencing, as well as unified communications (UC) services. These UC services consolidate numerous communications platforms into single interfaces for desktop or mobile users. Arkadin has established a global network with targeted expansion in North America, while it continues to capitalize on opportunities in the collaboration services market.
In conjunction with the management of Arkadin, Q Advisors evaluated potential acquisition targets that were consistent with the goals and strategic objectives of the company. In 2011, Q Advisors assisted Arkadin in identifying ConferencePlus, Inc., a conferencing services provider dedicated to superior customer experience, as a potential acquisition target. In 2014, Q Advisors helped Arkadin repeat the process with implement.com, a provider of hosted Microsoft Lync solutions and AccuConference, a Texas-based collaboration company. Following extensive due diligence, Arkadin acquired ConferencePlus on December 31, 2011; implement.com on February 5, 2014; and AccuConference on December 5, 2014.
These particular acquisitions provided Arkadin with a complementary set of services, helped it expand its presence in North America, and enabled the company to improve its vision for a best-in-class customer experience. Thanks to this strategy, Arkadin has emerged as the third-largest independent collaboration services provider in North America, and it further solidified its number-two market position in Europe and Asia. Q Advisors continues to act as Arkadin’s exclusive North American investment bank.
“Q Advisors was instrumental to Arkadin in closing a strategic transaction that significantly increased our U.S. market share,” says Alexis Cornu Thenard, Arkadin’s CFO. “The Q team is professional, delivered great advice and value to our team, and made the transaction smooth and fun. We look forward to working with Q Advisors again on other strategic opportunities.” Mark Alexander the President of North America on the relationship with Q Advisors states, “Our partnership with Q Advisors continues to strengthen. Their knowledge of the collaboration and communications space is extremely deep and they have the ability to find us acquisition partners that are complementary to the Arkadin growth strategy. We found great partners in implement.com and AccuConference, and the Q Advisors team helped us close both deals, providing guidance and creative structuring ideas and support.”
