Michael Quinn, founding partner of Q Advisors, is speaking at Cavell’s Cloud Comms Summit in London, on March 8, 2018. Mr. Quinn is delivering the Keynote M&A Presentation on “Global M&A After BroadSoft-Cisco, A New Paradigm.”
There has been considerable fallout from the BroadSoft-Cisco merger that will affect both BroadSoft resellers and proprietary platform providers in 2018 and beyond. Q Advisors believes that 2018 will be a pivotal year for M&A activity across the European Unified Communications and Collaboration (UCC) market. His prediction is supported by relatively low cloud penetration in most European regions, with increasing demand and subsiding privacy and security concerns. Q Advisors feels that a significant opportunity exists for the first Pan-European player to emerge and that view is backed by the considerable growth in private equity activity looking at the European UCC market.
“Cisco’s acquisition of BroadSoft was arguably the most noteworthy Cloud UCC deal in recent memory,” comments Mr. Quinn. “With such significance, though, comes substantial uncertainty regarding how it will affect other players in the space. I look forward to taking the conference participants on a tour of what may happen this year and provide them with the firm’s view of the key players and obstacles involved, and why we believe 2018 is going to be a game-changer for the European Cloud market.”
