Gerry DeHaven has over 25 years of investment banking, operating and consulting experience in the telecom, media, and technology (TMT) markets. Gerry’s investment banking experience includes M&A and debt and equity financings in a variety of TMT sub-sectors including cloud services, telecom, internet infrastructure, IT services, data center, and unified communications. He has worked with both emerging companies and large organizations including Alteva, Broadvox, CallTower, CMS, Excel, General Telecom, IDT, Net Access, Net2Phone, NGT, Saturn Telecommunications, Simple Signal, Speakeasy, Transcend United, UNSi, VoIP Logic, Wall Street Networks, and X5 Solutions.
Prior to joining Q Advisors, Gerry was the Founder and President of Iridius Capital Group, an M&A advisory and strategic consulting firm that worked primarily with communications and technology companies. Gerry also served as Managing Director for both Palladium Capital and Blue Beacon Capital where he advised Speakeasy on its $97 million sale to Best Buy. In addition, Gerry has held senior management positions with several communications and technology companies and also co-founded several successful communications companies including Blink Data and Vista International Communications (acquired by ACC, now a division of AT&T). Gerry’s approach to investment banking reflects his deep operational expertise, long-term relationships, and tenacious pursuit of the optimal deal for his clients.
Gerry is a frequent speaker at industry conferences and has served on the Board of Directors for multiple communication and technology companies throughout his career. He received a B.S. in Business Administration from Marist College and attended the Rutgers Business School Executive Education program.
Michael Quinn, founding partner of Q Advisors, brings a unique and highly valuable background to telecom, media, and technology (TMT) investment banking that combines finance, hands on M&A experience, and law. With more than 25 years of international operations and investment banking experience in the telecommunications industry, Michael has originated, structured, and executed more than 100 deals totaling more than $4 billion in transaction value. Michael’s deep industry expertise and extensive transaction experience has enabled him to lead M&A and debt and equity financings in a variety of TMT sectors including cloud and managed services, competitive wireline telecom, wireless, digital media, social networking, mobile content, satellite and mobile infrastructure and solutions. He has led transactions for Q Advisors' clients domestically and globally, including Arkadin, Atlantic Tele-Network, Inc., Dean One, DeCurtis Corporation, Four Winds Interactive, Hudson Fiber, Masergy Communications, Motto, Starface, Swyx, One Source Networks, Communications and TPX. Michael brings to the table a reputation as a creative problem solver and is passionately committed to obtaining the optimal results for the firm’s clients.
Prior to forming Q Advisors, Michael was a founder of and Chief Corporate Development Officer for VeloCom Inc., a Latin American wireless services provider, where he was responsible for capital raising and acquisition activities. Michael began his career with the New York-based law firm of Cleary, Gottlieb, Steen & Hamilton. He later became a partner in the Denver-based law firm Holland & Hart LLP, guiding their international corporate finance practice.
Michael received a B.A. in International Affairs from The George Washington University and a J.D. from the New York University School of Law. He is currently on the Advisory Board of The George Washington University School of Business and on the Board of the Elliot School of International Affairs at The George Washington University.
Michael is currently on the Board of the Cloud Communications Alliance (CCA), also serving as Secretary.
Patrick Scott has over 20 years of international investment banking and corporate finance experience in the telecom, media, and technology industries. Since joining Q Advisors in 2006, Patrick has been the lead partner on a number of debt and equity financings and mergers and acquisitions transactions particularly focused on the wireline, fiber, and wireless and satellite segments. His Q Advisors clients include Nokia, Public Mobile, WIND Canada, Wild Blue Communications and a number of leading Private Equity Funds.
Prior to joining Q Advisors, Patrick was a Director in KZC Catalyst’s $150 million private investment fund. Previously, he was a Managing Director in the Telecom Group with Bank of America Securities, raising over $2.0 billion in debt and advising companies on over $5.0 billion in transactions. His work with Bank of America included a $1.8 billion project financing for a BellSouth cellular subsidiary, earning IFR and PFI Deal of the Year in 2000. Patrick also created and managed his own consulting firm, advising on over $2.0 billion in merger and acquisition transactions, including the acquisition of a Qualcomm CLEC subsidiary by an MCI company and advising Embratel S.A., a Brazilian long-distance operator, in its bid to purchase strategic assets from AT&T Latin America. Patrick brings to the table a wealth of transaction experience and has a reputation as a globally oriented, strategic, long-term thinker.
Patrick received a B.A. in Political Science from the University of California, San Diego, and an M.B.A. from the University of Michigan.
Wilma is responsible for all financial operations and reporting at Q Advisors. She has over 30 years of experience in business operations, consulting and engineering.
Prior to joining Q Advisors, Wilma was an independent business consultant, working primarily in the professional services industry. She also worked as an in-house management consultant in the healthcare industry and in the oil and gas industry as an engineer and field supervisor.
Wilma is actively involved in the volunteer community in Denver, fulfilling various roles with The Children’s Hospital, Trips for Kids, Cottonwood Institute, Junior League of Denver, Denver Public Schools, and Colorado Mountain Club. She received B.S. degrees in Metallurgical Engineering and Environmental Engineering from New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology, and an MBA from the University of Colorado at Denver.
Brian Barnell brings over 20 years of diverse financial experience to the field of investment banking that includes commercial lending, project finance, corporate finance and strategic advisory. Brian’s deep knowledge in telecom, media, and technology (TMT) has assisted clients such as Nokia, Altán Redes, TPx Communications and Tillman Infrastructure maximize their transactions value by designing creative capital structures and focusing on each company’s ideal positioning given the sector’s current market dynamics.
Prior to joining Q Advisors, Brian was at Bank of America where he served as a Vice President in the Latin America Debt Capital Markets and Global Project Finance groups. In these capacities he focused primarily on raising debt and equity capital for domestic and international communications service providers.
Brian received a dual B.A. (History and Spanish) from The University of California at Santa Barbara and a M.A. from the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey and is CFA charterholder.
Andrew Gaffney has over 20 years of investment banking and corporate finance experience, leading numerous strategic transactions including mergers and acquisitions, recapitalizations and debt and equity financings. Andrew has worked with clients in a range of telecom, media, and technology (TMT) sectors including cloud communications, managed services, media and software. His clients include Broadcore, Broadsmart, Circle Graphics, DeCurtis, IFX Networks, Meriplex Communications, Simple Signal and Telovations.
Prior to joining the firm, Andrew worked at SunTrust Robinson Humphrey, a leading middle market investment bank based in Atlanta, where he executed a broad array of transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, public offerings and private placements of equity and debt. Previously, Andrew was a Vice President with ING Investment Management, investing as a principal in private placements of debt and asset-backed securities. Andrew started his career in commercial banking with SunTrust Bank.
Andrew received a B.A. degree in History from Washington and Lee University and an M.B.A. with honors from The Wharton School, where he was a Palmer Scholar. Andrew holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
Daniel Kenney has over twelve years of diverse investment banking experience executing mergers and acquisitions, debt and equity financings, and financial and strategic advisory assignments for clients across the communications and technology industries. His experience includes multiple clients and executed transactions within sectors such as managed cloud and IT services, network services and fiber infrastructure, enterprise and wholesale communications services, technology hardware and software. Daniel’s clients include Atlantic Metro Communications, Grande Communications, Hudson Fiber Network, Metro Optical Solutions, RTP Technology, SwiftReach Networks, TNCI, and Telnes Broadband.
Daniel received his B.S. in Finance/Accounting with High Distinction, as well as a minor in Economics from the University of Colorado.
Andy Monroe brings more than 15 years of diverse corporate finance and investment banking experience to clients across the technology and communications industries. He has executed numerous private placement and merger and acquisition transactions related to cloud-based technologies and applications, enterprise and mobile software, managed network services and other emerging growth sectors. His clients have included Adperio, Arkadin, Crisp Wireless, Four Winds Interactive, Grande Communications, Magnetic North Software, One Source Networks, Pingtone, Radiant Communications, STARFACE, Swyx, Transbeam, and UNSi.
Prior to joining the firm in 2007, Andy was Vice President with Seattle-based Cascadia Capital and previously a sell-side equity Research Associate for Chicago-based William Blair & Company, responsible for performing strategic analysis, financial modeling, and valuation analysis for the wireless communications, technology and other business services industries. Andy also held previous finance positions with FrontierVision Partners, a cable systems operator, and was a Senior Auditor in the Communications practice of KPMG.
Andy holds a B.S. in Accounting from the University of Colorado at Boulder and an M.B.A. in Finance and Entrepreneurship from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business.
Dmitry Netis heads Q Advisors' origination and business development efforts. He brings over 24 years of unique background that combines finance, venture investing, sell-side equity research, and operational industry experience across the telecom, media, and technology (TMT) sector. Most recently, he consulted for several public and private company clients under the practice he founded, Dmitry Netis & Company LLC, and was the CFO/COO of privately-held CafeX Communications. He was also a Managing Director and Senior Equity Research Analyst with Stephens Inc. Prior to that, he spent over 10 years at William Blair & Company as a founding member of the TMT team, where he established cloud communications, data networking, and infrastructure software practices.
Before joining the financial services industry in 2007, Mr. Netis worked for more than a decade in the high-tech industry, holding engineering and business development roles at Conexant Systems and IBM Corporation.
Mr. Netis holds a B.S. in electrical engineering from the University of Rochester, a M.E. from Cornell University, and an M.B.A. from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute’s Lally School of Management.
Hayley Hughes joined Q Advisors in 2014 and has executed mergers and acquisitions, debt and equity financings and strategic advisory for clients across the telecom, media, and technology (TMT) industries with an emphasis on the cloud communications, managed services and digital media sectors. Specific clients on whose transactions she has been engaged include TPx Communications, Mundo Media, API Digital, TNCI, Ripple Resort Media, and SwiftReach Networks.
Hayley received a B.S. in Finance with High Distinction, a Quantitative Finance Certificate, and a minor in Economics from the University of Colorado at Boulder.
Dominick Robusto joined Q Advisors in 2019. Previously, he executed numerous mergers and acquisitions, equity and debt financings, and strategic advisory engagements for clients across the telecom, media, and technology (TMT) industries with an emphasis on software and hardware technologies within the Internet of Things (IoT) sector at KPMG. Specific clients on whose transactions he has been engaged include Ubisense Group plc, Smiths Group plc, 3M Company, Kiosk Information Systems, and Control-Tec.
Dominick received his MBA in Finance with Distinction from Texas Christian University and his B.S. in Marketing from Trinity University. Dominick holds the Chartered Financial Analyst designation.
Jordan Rupar joined Q Advisors in 2012. During this time, she has executed numerous mergers and acquisitions, equity financings and strategic advisory assignments for clients across the TMT industries with a deep focus on cloud communications, software and technology, communications infrastructure (fiber, towers, etc.) and other emerging growth sectors. Specific clients on whose transactions she has been engaged include Arkadin, ANPI, Broadsmart, CallTower, Calligo, Centile, Dean One, Four Winds Interactive, IFX Networks, InterVision, Magnetic North, Motto Communications, One Source Networks, TPx Communications, UNSi, and WennSoft (Key2Act).
Jordan received her B.S.B.A. in Finance with Distinction, as well as minors in both Mathematics and Economics from the University of Denver.
Wes joined Q Advisors in 2018 and has been working with the team on mergers and acquisitions and strategic advisory assignments for clients across the telecom, media and technology (TMT) industries. Specific clients on whose transactions he has been engaged include Meriplex Communications, Four Winds Interactive and STARFACE.
Prior to joining the firm, Wes was an analyst at Hyde Park Capital, where he gained mergers and acquisitions experience across several industries. Wes received his B.S. in Business with a specialty in Finance from The Ohio State University.
Austin Foster joined Q Advisors in 2018 and has executed mergers and acquisitions and debt and equity financings for clients across the telecom, media, and technology (TMT) industries with a focus on enterprise software, fiber infrastructure, and managed services. Specific clients on whose transactions he has been engaged include DeCurtis Corporation, Four Winds Interactive, and Metro Optical.
Prior to joining the firm, Austin was an analyst with Deloitte Consulting’s technology practice, where he advised Fortune 500 companies on technology-driven financial transformation projects. Austin received a B.S. in Business Administration with emphases in Finance and Accounting and a minor in Economics from the University of Colorado.
Thomas Beato joined Q Advisors in 2019 and has been working with the team on mergers and acquisitions and strategic advisory assignments for clients across the telecom, media, and technology (TMT) industries.
Thomas received a B.S. in Business Administration with emphases in Finance and Accounting from the University of Colorado Boulder, where he graduated with High Distinction. Thomas also completed an internship with Q Advisors in 2018.
Jan Ebelt joined Q Advisors in 2018 and has been working with the team on mergers and acquisitions and strategic advisory assignments for clients across the telecom, media, and technology (TMT) industries with an emphasis on hardware and cloud services.
Jan received his B.B.A with a concentration in Finance magna cum laude from the George Washington University. He completed an internship with Q Advisors prior to joining full-time.
